As a team, we are constantly learning, and by being part of the 2018 Kiwibank Fintech Accelerator we're ensuring that we're learning from the best. By following this blog series you will not only follow our journey as a company, but also hopefully learn something that could benefit your business. Every week we will be documenting product developments, business learnings, and the standard 'Good, Bad and Ugly.'
With that being said, let's get into it!
As a customer, communicating with a brand or organisation usually sucks. JRNY is changing that.
JRNY is a solution which optimises the customer experience. Our platform uses a combination of machine learning and automated chatbots to streamline the customer journey so that you can serve every single customer at the same time, whilst also improving customer retention and net promoter score. When designed and implemented for the full customer lifecycle, JRNY can also increase the likelihood that a consumer will make a purchase, reducing the cost of acquisition.
Over the next six weeks, you will see our digital presence transform to JRNY. I will also document why we made this change in greater detail, and the learnings from this. This will give you greater insight into our company and what we're aiming to achieve. By providing this insight, I'm hoping that there will be relevant learnings that will also help you in your own business/role.
Product Developments & Business Learnings
One of the most significant learnings of the past few months (not just the last week) has been the need for your brand to be timeless. As Bot the Builder, we would have been confined to a technology - a technology which over time would become outdated - potentially making Bot the Builder redundant irrespective of our offering.
As a brand, JRNY leads with the outcome. Regardless of the technological changes that will naturally happen with time, this outcome will stay consistent.
The Good, Bad and Ugly
The Good: There are so many good things happening at the moment, but at the top of the list would is our latest team addition - Maria! Maria has joined us as a design intern and is already making her presence felt. We also have a quality advisory board established and we're close to releasing our best bit of work yet.
The Bad: (Not bad, just something that I realise I have been stuffing up regularly!) The latter half of the week was spent going through a sales sprint. The purpose of the sales sprint is for us a company to understand the best way to articulate the value that we provide. Because I work in the business every day and know the technology inside and out, I often communicate as though others in the room have the same knowledge/understanding as me, even if they are being introduced to the technology for the first time. It was great to highlight this flaw so that I can communicate more effectively and subsequently help more people.
The Ugly: No ugly this week - life is great!
Over the course of the programme, I'll be sure to actively document our journey. I'll include research notes, product developments, general business lessons and the classic 'Good, Bad and Ugly'. If you're interested in our progress as a company, or want to understand what goes on in an accelerator, then I encourage you to fill out the form linked here, so that you can stay up to date with all of the above.
